3rd Grade Field Trip to Harn Homestead and 1889!
Third grade students had the opportunity to travel back in time to the year of the Land Run! Students assumed the role of “scholar” for the day and got to spend the day in the life of a child who lived during 1889. They learned how to grind corn, run a garden, sweep out a barn, collect eggs, make rope, lasso, see what it took to run a household, learn how to stay cool in the summer time with no air conditioning, eat an authentic 1889 lunch, and spend the afternoon at the school house. So much learning and so much fun!! Thanks for having us, Harn Homestead!
