3rd Grade Learning Oklahoma and Native American Heritage
Ms. Skinner arranged for Heritage to host George “Cricket” Shields as a guest speaker for third grade. Third grade learns about Oklahoma’s history, and with that comes learning Native American history. Mr. Shields taught us about the Bald Eagle and what it represents for Native Americans. He was also kind enough to bring his traditional regalia. Lucky third grader, Dylan Eden, got to try on the traditional regalia as the symbolism for each piece was explained. Thank you to Mr. Shields, and to Ms. Skinner for setting this up for our third graders! They loved it!
